Loved the El Paso style taco's . The taste like the good ole days. The ones at Chico's tacos arent as good anymore. Also had Colita de pavo !

My daughter and I were excited to try this place out because of all the good reviews. We walked in at lunch time on a Saturday. It was not the cleanest looking restaurant. The place was empty except for 2 police officers. I thought this was a sign of good food.
We were going to order Nachos but they didn't have chicken on their "Meats" list. My daughter does not eat beef so she ordered chicken flautas. This confused me because they don't have chicken available for Nachos but it's available for flautas?? I ordered the menudo which also got good reviews.
Our food comes and we quickly realize why chicken is available for flautas, it looks like the Delimex frozen taquitos, hidden under a pile of lettuce and sour cream. My daughter took her first bite and said "I don't think I'll be coming back here". She ate half of 1 of the 3 flautas.
My menudo was extremely greasy, I tried to skim as much as I could from the top. I'm not use to the tripe being so brown in color, I don't know maybe that's a "border food" thing. I really hope so.
I did not try the salsa from the salsa bar, the onions were fresh though. The limes were super dry, I'm not sure if they were old or dry from sitting out.
I just really do not get the rave reviews, maybe it was a super off day.
The staff was really pleasant. -

I love this place sooo much...you don't even know lol! If you're a native El Pasoan then you know why. I've been coming here since I moved up here a few years ago but I always forget to review. Hands down, this place has the best "Chico's" tacos and the rest of the food is great. It really takes me back because the flavors are very similar to the original place, except this food is way better! It honestly has much more flavor than the Chico's Tacos in EP. Plus, they have more offerings such as tortas, burritos, nachos, loaded fries, menudo, and much more as well as different kinds of tender, flavorful meat by the pound.
This time, my daughter and I stuck to the basics. We ordered the traditional El Paso rolled tacos which come drenched in a flavorful Mexican style tomato sauce topped with cheddar cheese not that nasty "government cheese" we were used to back home lol! We also got a Chile Colorado burrito which comes with homemade re-fried beans. Their Chile Colorado has some of the best spicy flavor I've tried...it's even better than what I make! Great authentic Chile!! We've also ordered nachos in the past loaded with Chile Colorado, lots of salad and Guac! The salsas that come on the side are very tasty and enhances the whole experience! Both the red and green are yummy. Annnd...no order would be complete without their Cup-Corn or Elote en Vaso (Esquite) topped with tons of Mexican mayo, Cotija cheese, and spicy red chili powder! I usually get mine with 'lighter' mayo. The only thing missing is a lime wedge on the side since this is how I've enjoyed in in Juarez, Mx. Also, don't forget your Coca Mexicana (Mexican Bottled Coke).
Just a 411, it isn't in the nicest side of town and the restaurant is old. But if you don't mind a 'hole-in-the-wall' environment, then you'll see past it and enjoy the delicious and FLAVORFUL food. This sort of thing doesn't bother me because I grew up in da' hood and the ambiance reminds me of my roots. I emphasize "flavor" because the original place lacked so much of it! The owner is friendly and happens to be from El Paso (of course) so the whole place is decorated with El Paso's City memorabilia which is quite nostalgic and a nice touch. Gotta' represent Chucotown!!
Love this place, I just wish there was one closer to where I live--in the Southwest! Maybe it's good that there isn't one--I'd be eating there all the time. That'd be dangerous!! -

Very good, taste just like Chico's tacos in El Paso TX. Great food, great service. I will definitely be coming back. :)
